친애하는 한인 동포 여러분,
팬데믹과 건물보수공사로 여러해 동안 중단되었던 토론토 한인노인회의 연례 워커톤 행사를 다시금 개최하게 됨을 기쁘게 생각합니다. 올해로 34회를 맞이하는 이번 행사는 블루어 코리아타운 인근 크리스티공원(750 Bloor St.)에서 오전 11시 시가 행진을 시작으로 1부 개회식 2부 노인회 공연 3부 초청가수 공연 등 다채로운 행사가 진행됩니다.
1974년 설립된 토론토 한인노인회는 60세 이상 노인분들의 아파트 및 노인연금 신청, 병원 안내 및 무료 통역, 노인학대 예방 교육 및 워크샵과 같은 노인복지 프로그램과 영어교실, 컴퓨터반, 게이트볼, 사물놀이, 합창단, 댄스.요가 교실 등과 같은 다양한 특별활동을 제공해 왔으며 노인회원 뿐만 아니라 성인장애인공동체, 새터민, 625참전유공자회 등 여러단체들에게 모임의 장소를 제공해 왔으며 캐나다 정부에 제출해야 하는 공문서 작성 서비스 등도 함께 제공해 왔습니다.
현재 노인회 보수공사는 95%가 마무리 되었으며 토론토시로부터 건물 입주에 필요한 소방 점검을 받으면 빠르면 8월 중으로 입주가 가능한 상황입니다. 이번 워커톤 행사의 수익금은 노인회관 입주에 필요한 준비 자금으로 사용될 계획입니다.
토론토 한국노인회는 다양한 행사와 서비스를 통해 노인회원 뿐만 아니라 회관을 방문하는 모든 한인 동포분들께 편안한 휴식과 함께 친목을 쌓을 수 있는 장소가 될 수 있도록 최선의 노력을 다 하겠습니다.

Greetings and hope this message finds you well and in good health. After several years of interruptions due to the pandemic and uncertainties, we are pleased to announce that this year’s 34th Annual Walk-a-thon of the Korean Senior Citizens Society of Toronto(KSCST) will be held on September 8, 2023.
Through this event, we, the Korean Senior Citizens Society of Toronto, firmly believe that we can demonstrate a renewed commitment to becoming a meaningful bridge to the future generations in our community. With a heartfelt desire to revitalize the Bluecore Korean Town and uphold the original purpose and significance of our Korean Center for the elderly, we have been preparing diligently for this Walkathon.
We cordially invite our seniors, their families, and all fellow community members to join us at Christie Park on September 8th, starting at 11 a.m., to participate in the Walkathon.
We kindly ask for your generous support and warm attention as we endeavor to witness the Korean Senior Citizens Society of Toronto take a leap forward. Your interest and sponsorship will be crucial for the success of the Walkathon event.
